The Blind Coonhound
Among other relational features, dogs save us from a self-centered life.
Bernie, our dog, is a needy creature, and his needs keep us focused outward. If we don’t feed him, open essential doors for him, take him to vet appointments, and extend other grace notes, he will not live well or long.
He thrives because we care. That is (or should be) true of every dog.
That’s why we’ve chosen Sean Dietrich’s column, The Blind Coonhound, as our SEEN & HEARD posting for this week. Because Sean and Jamie Dietrich’s dog Marigold is blind, she expands and intensifies the need.
“ … this blind dog needs us for everything. She can’t do anything for herself.”
Sean, Jamie, and Marigold—what a blessed family. Read this beautiful essay here: The Blind Coonhound.
